Shankar-6 cotton price stays put over Rs 60,000 / candy

After maintaining stability on the last two working days of the previous week, prices of the most exportable variety of Indian raw cotton; Shankar-6 gained on Monday.
They jumped by Rs 365 per candy over the closing prices of last week, or 0.61 percent to touch Rs 60,875 per candy on the opening day of the current week.
On Tuesday, the leap was more pronounced, when Shankar-6 prices rose by just above one percent to Rs 61,500 per candy.
Shankar-6 prices kept up the momentum witnessed from Monday and once gain grew; albeit marginally by Rs 125 to Rs 61,625 per candy on Wednesday.
However Shankar-6 prices seemed to have lost steam on the remaining two working days of the week and stayed stable at Rs 61,625 on Thursday and Friday.
Considering the closing of yesterday and the previous weekend, Shankar-6 price have surged by 1.89 percent in the current week.
