During the first two months of this year, China exported real silk goods worth US $569 million registering a 16.22 percent increase on year to year basis.
Though China's exports to most of the countries increased, exports to India recorded the highest growth rate of 28.85 percent.
In the period, China's top five export markets of silk goods were United States, India, Italy, Japan and Hong Kong. Though United States had a big market share of 19.94 percent in total exports, exports to US declined during the period.
In terms of volume, only silk garments' exports rose with 66.89 percent increase. In terms of price, silk garment prices registered negative growth rate of 37.37 percent. It was the only product registering negative growth rate in terms of price.
China's exported 25.15 million pieces (sets) of silk garment in January-February, an increase of 66.89 percent. For this variety, average unit price was US $8.59 / piece (set), 37.37 percent less compared to the previous year.
Exports of silk satin registered negative growth rate of 17.72 percent. China exported 32.44 million meters of silk satin at average unit price of US $4.44 / meters, 35.41 percent higher compared to the previous year.
