There has been a decline in cotton arrival this season.
Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has announced a drop of 7.84 percent in cotton arrival during current season. It stated that, only 11.69 million bales of cotton were produced during this season, which is 7.84 percent less than last year's output.
This fall in production, the association claimed, was due to factors like crop diseases, floods and pest attacks.
Meanwhile, there has been a rise in unsold stock which is 219,955 bales, as against last year's 65,896, PCGA revealed.
However, there has been a decline in Punjab's contribution, which plummeted from last year's 8.45 million bales to 7.90 million bales, down 6.55 percent. Likewise, Sindh's contribution also declined by 10.41 percent from last year's 4.23 million bales to 3.79 million bales, this year.
Baluchistan also contributed 24,118 bales this year.
