A meeting of the managing committee of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) is being convened today, to discuss the twin issues of cotton futures trading and the energy shortage.

Mr Yasin Siddik, Vice Chairman – APTMA informed fibre2fashion, “There are two important things on the agenda. First, we will discuss the recent development whereby, SECP has allowed futures trading in cotton.

“Secondly, we will also discuss the energy issue because gas scarcity is still going on. Previously, we faced gas shortage only in winters, but this year, though it is summer now, still gas shortage persists."

"The meeting will be followed by a press conference at 5:30 PM and the meeting is also open to all other members of APTMA”, he said.
