Brazil has become the latest country to join the list of leading crop producing countries that are suffering weather jolts. Inadequate rains in the country are being apprehended to result in loss of some cotton crop.
Dr Cordonnier, an agriculturist stated that everyone was aware that a problem was on the horizon, but were still hopeful that this year too it will rain in June, like it had happened a couple of years ago.
He said that inadequate rains may hit the second cotton crop. However, cotton being far more drought resistant than corn, it would be a less concerning issue.
Also, the second cotton crop makes up less than 20 percent of the total crop cultivation.
