JBF RAK to set up PET facility in Geel, Belgium

JBF RAK LLC has entered in to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BP Aromatics N.V. to build a PET facility in Geel, Belgium.

The proposed CP/SSP manufacturing unit will be co-located on BP's existing petrochemicals site in Geel, adjacent to BP's world-class PTA facility which will supply Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) directly to the Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Plant. The project under discussion is for a 390,000 tonne per year Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) state of art manufacturing unit in Geel, Belguim, and is scheduled to commence in 2014.

JBF RAK LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of JBF Industries Limited. JBF RAK currently operates a 390,000 MT per annum PET Resin and 80,000 MT per annum BOPET manufacturing facility situated in the emirates of Ras Al Khiamah, UAE. The turnover for JBF RAK LLC (stand alone) for the FY 2010-11 (April to March period) is USD 663 Milion with an EBIDTA of USD 120 Million.

JBF RAK LLC today supplied packaging resins & BOPET films to all the leading brand owners & converters globally. The new facility will be a step towards reaching closer to its EU customer base & strengthening its already strong relationship with leading brand owners.
