PolyOne announces two new appointments

PolyOne Corporation, a premier provider of specialised polymer materials, services and solutions, has appointed Mark Crist as president of Colour, Additives and Inks, and J Scott Horn as president of PolyOne Distribution (POD). The internal executive appointments become effective on July 3, 2017. Crist replaces John Van Hulle, who is retiring from PolyOne.
Crist joined PolyOne in 2008 as a global commercial director for the company's Geon business. He was later promoted to vice president, key account management, where he was responsible for building and growing PolyOne's largest multinational customer relationships. He also served as vice president of Asia, while based in Shanghai. Since 2014 he has served as president of Distribution, driving the business to unprecedented success and growth. Prior to PolyOne, Crist spent 20 years with Nalco Chemical Company, serving in various sales, marketing and general manager roles focused on specialty markets while based in Europe and North America.
"Mark's broad global experience - and the success he's achieved in each of his roles while at PolyOne - make him the ideal person to lead our Colour business to the next level. Horn succeeds Crist in the leadership role for PolyOne Distribution as a widely respected, 36-year veteran of the chemical distribution industry. Horn began his career with Fiberchem in 1981 as a sales representative and progressively ascended through various leadership positions, culminating in being named president in 1991, at which time Fiberchem was acquired by M A Hanna. With the formation of PolyOne in 2000, Horn has since continued serving regional and industry sectors in general manager roles for the company's world-class distribution business.
"Few people have the combined credibility, vast experience and strong relationships in polymer distribution as Scott Horn. He has been a consistent driving force behind our Distribution business success since PolyOne was created, and I'm extremely pleased and excited he will be leading our future growth and expansion in POD," said Patterson.
