Following the success of the recently concluded 14th International Textile Asia Exhibition, the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) and E-commerce Gateway Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding for conducting the event for the next five years in Lahore, according to media reports.

The objective of this textile machinery fair was to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of Pakistan's textile industry. Machine and equipments designed to produce value added textile products were displayed at the event. The organisers believe that by using the latest technology, local companies can add value to their products and increase the volume of exports.

Seminars, presentations, and B2B meets were also a part of the fair. Participants from 29 countries exhibited over 350 products, providing small and medium scaled enterprises opportunities to collaborate. The three-day textile exhibition witnessed over 100,000 visitors, and deals worth more than $300 million were registered,

Chinese companies participated in a big way at this year's event. Companies from Europe, especially Germany, will be invited to participate at the 15th International Textile Asia Exhibition to be held in August next year. (HO)
