Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has become the largest Indian company in terms of revenue overtaking state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). In fiscal 2018-19 that ended on March 31, Reliance Industries posted a turnover of ₹6.23 lakh crore, compared to IOC’s ₹6.17 lakh crore, according to regulatory filings by the two companies.

RIL was also the most profitable company in the country with a net profit of ₹39,588 crore in FY19. IOC’s net profit during the year stood at ₹17.274 crore.

As on May 21, 2019, the oil-to-telecom conglomerate had a market capitalisation of ₹8.52 lakh crore.

RIL has now become India’s number one company in terms of all three parameters, i.e. revenue, profit and market capitalisation. (RKS)
