SGS has become Madagascar’s first accredited textile laboratory. This accreditation will help SGS to further support the country’s textile industry. Operational since 2013, this conformity and performance testing laboratory is designed to assist local textile manufacturing companies to cater global needs. SGS has been accredited with ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

In addition to the advanced equipment and wide range of services, the internationally recognized accreditation will enable SGS to guarantee the quality and integrity of its services and to strengthen customer confidence.

"In any certification and accreditation process, getting the certificate is just the starting point. It officially confirms the company's commitment to comply with the standards, but it also implies that it will be necessary to double our efforts to keep on top and to maintain this accreditation, and to gradually expand the scope," said Cédric Catheline, managing director of SGS in Madagascar.

Madagascar’s minister of commerce, Chabani Nourdine, highlighted the importance of this accreditation for the local textile industry and was very proud to take part at the official ceremony. (VM)
