Shima Seiki to exhibit at Spin Expo

At Spin Expo to be held in Shanghai, China, Japanese computerised knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will showcasing its latest generation of machines in stall Y-01.

For the first time at Spin Expo, Shima Seiki will be displaying the MACH2XS Wholegarment knitting machine, featuring its SlideNeedle on four needle beds and spring-loaded moveable sinkers.

According to a press release, MACH2XS offers higher efficiency and greater stability with expanded patterning capability while knitting Wholegarment items.

The company also said that the machine will provide an interesting technological dimension to the show, with its capability to produce complete knitwear right on the machine without sewing or linking.

Also on display will be the latest version of Shima Seiki's SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system, which is at the core of Shima Seiki's 'Total Fashion System' concept.

“This has been made possible due to its comprehensive support of the knit apparel production process from planning and production to sales promotion, as well as its capability for virtual sampling,” it stated.

“Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows virtual sampling to minimise the costly time and resource consuming sample-making process,” Shima Seiki informed.

APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.

Also on display will be the latest collection of knit samples, including seam-free Wholegarment knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics. (AR)
