The main aim of the exhibition was to materialise the target of increasing Pakistan-Sri Lanka bilateral trade to $1 billion. Another aim of holding the event was to introduce different commodities being produced in Pakistan to Sri Lankan consumers.
The exhibition displayed carpets, traditional textiles, designer wear, and apparel, along with agro food, handicrafts, cosmetics, engineering products, jewellery, and auto parts.
Negotiations to expand the existing Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to trade in services and investment also were initiated at the exhibition. Pakistan's commerce minister Khurram Dastgir Khan said that the fair would carve out new business partnerships, strengthen the old ones and enhance trade and commerce between the two countries. (HO)
