Steinhoff completes acquisition of Mattress Firm

Steinhoff International has completed the acquisition of Mattress Firm Holding, the biggest US retailer of mattresses. The acquisition was first announced by Mattress Firm on August 8, 2016, while Mattress Firm's management, led by Steve Stagner, executive chairman, and Ken Murphy, president, will remain in place and continue to manage daily activities.
“Steinhoff has a proven track record in the global mattress industry, and they share our vision for the growth and expansion of Mattress Firm,” Ken Murphy said. “This is an exciting event for our customers, employees and business partners as we enter a new chapter for Mattress Firm.”
As a result of the completion of the transaction, Mattress Firm Holding's common stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ stock market. (AR)
