Aditya Birla Group's Thai Acrylic Fibre stressed on the significance of using sustainable textile fibres and processes on the occasion of World Water Day, according to a company release.

The company took the opportunity to show its responsibility of being eco-friendly with its dyed acrylic fibre Radianza.

Radianza is a ready-to-use dyed acrylic fibre which is dyed during fibre manufacturing at normal temperature in fibre's gel state thereby consuming less than one cubic metre water per metric ton of dyed fibre and saving power and energy.

Ambrish Maheshwari, CEO, Thai Acrylic Fibre, said, “Water is the most precious resource without which life is not possible. But as a matter of fact, it is getting polluted and wasted every day due to careless and excessive use. In developing nations, safe drinking water is a daily crisis. Millions of people die, most of them children, from diseases caused by lack of access to clean drinking water. Harmful industrial wastes, by-products, toxic chemicals poison water and are deadly for aquatic life. It is critical to control these to have a sustainable world for all”.

Biswajit Chaudhuri, chief marketing officer, Thai Acrylic Fibre explained, “As one of the top manufacturer of acrylic fibres, it is our responsibility to address the serious concerns over sustainability and environmental pollution and provide an immediate solution. The United Nations have cautioned about continued water crisis throughout many parts of the world. Radianza fibre will address these key environmental issues. Radianza is truly an eco-friendly fibre with a wide range of vibrant colours, consistent shades in big lots, high colour fastness values and reduced wastage in knitting/weaving. Shrinkable Radianza fibres are a unique offering which cannot be replicated by normal fibre dyeing method. This variety is perfect to develop a wide range of specialty blend yarns, melanges, multi-colour yarns at reduced costs. 10 Ne - 40 Ne yarns in both regular and high-bulky varieties suits knitting/weaving of fashion wear, apparels, sweaters, carpets, and uniforms.”

Radianza is certified by Oeko Tex Class 1 Standard 100 (for babies) and is REACH SVHC complaint for Europe. (HO)
