Lugang Science & Technology, a Chinese worsted & woolen yarn manufacturer is launching their latest yarn collection made with Amicor fibre at Spin Expo, New York, which runs from July 21-23, 2015.

“The collection will be primarily targeted to the premium brands and innovators in the field of baby sweaters, socks, winter garment sets & thermal innerwear,” a press release from Thai Acrylic informs.

Amicor fibre, which is produced by Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd, is a leader in anti-microbial textiles since its invention by Acordis (UK) in late 1990s.

According to Thai Acrylics, products developed with Amicor fibres have durable, long lasting anti-bacterial and anti-fungal performance even up to 100 washing cycles.

“Amicor fibres keep apparels fresh & hygienic all throughout the day and prevents growth of moulds on the product,” it added.

Amicor fibre is endorsed and compliant with the European Legislation, has received seal of approval from the British Allergy Foundation, is REACH SVHC compliant and is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified.

Qian Zhongwei, vice president at Lugang said, “There has been an increasing demand for hygienic & fresh textiles for winterwear and apparel specifically for the baby segment.”

“As babies are the most susceptible to microbes, it is our responsibility to provide healthy & protected apparels for babies to keep them safe & fresh all-day-long,” he added.

“Consumers are getting more aware about healthy living in everyday lives; and we understand, it is the appropriate time to focus and cater to this consumer sentiment,” Zhingwei informed.

“We are confident that our partnership with Amicor shall provide a new dimension to the baby winter apparel segment in the coming years,” he observed.

Biswajit Chaudhuri, chief marketing officer, Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd stated, “Amicor fibre is developed by the intelligent ‘Late Injection Technology’ and is injected into the core of the fibre.”

“And unlike other anti-microbial surface finishes, it is not in direct contact with the skin. So Amicor is gentle, safe & soft, very suitable for use in baby products,” he too added.

Amicor is the only tested and certified dual-functionality for both AB & AF fibre available in the acrylic fibres market.

“Hence, it is perfectly suited for the winter apparel segment in which Amicor can be very easily blended with wool & acrylic fibres for sweaters, hand-knitting-yarns, thermal inners, etc.” the company explained.

Jiangsu Lugang is now the certified supplier of woolen & worsted yarns blended with Amicor and supplies both single and double yarn counts in the range of 28- 56 Nm.

The Chinese yarn producer also makes available customised yarn counts as per customer requirements. (AR)
