The fifth edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh trade show will run March 2-3, 2016 with the theme 'Denim in Fashion'.

"Denim has been growing continuously in the last decade, but what new has happened is that high-end fashion has joined the bandwagon of denim affiliation," the organiser Sandeep Agarwal informed in a press release.

According to the organiser, visitors worldwide have appreciated the show with denim expert Adriano Goldschmied saying that the show was much better than expected beginning from designs to the way the show was organised.

In recent times, the denim has gone high-end as from Alexa Chung for AG jeans to Marques Almeida and even Prada are using denim to create style, nostalgia and style reinvention.

The fourth edition of Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh show concluded successfully last October and received a much greater response compared to the last three shows.

With the theme being Denim Playground, the focus of the fourth edition was on denim as a sportswear and increasingly targeting to become an activewear product.

More than 1,700 visitors from top international apparel retailers like G-Star, C&A, Celio, Carrefour, Uniqlo, Camieu, GAP, Gloria Jeans, H&M, Jade, Kiabi, Levi's, Li and Fung, M&S, Otto visited the last edition.

Besides, local Bangladeshi factories, buying houses etc came and extended their support to this exhibition and made it successful.

The two day program had included seminars on sustainability as well as the new technological paradigm shift in the manufacturing, washing and dyeing where views were exchanged by denim experts.

The fourth edition was also special as this was the first show which allowed local Bangladeshi young fashion talent to showcase their creativity and design on an international platform.

The last day of the edition also saw Fashionim show, which was attended and appreciated by over 400 invitees and was sponsored by Envoy Group, Vicunha and Bhaskar.

Sandeep Agarwal also gave glimpses of the De-Brands, the first ever online global denim event and which also aims to bring suppliers and buyers of denim together at one place. (AR)
