RST secures clutch of patents for Demron fabric

Miami-based Radiation Shield Technologies (RST) has been granted several new Canadian patents and several other international patents that further safeguard the company's intellectual property and its ability to manufacture, market and sell its proprietary Demron personal-protection gear.

Ronald DeMeo, MD, CEO of Radiation Shield Technologies, made he announcement in a press release.

Demron is the world's only fabric that protects against chemical, biological, ballistic, and radiological threats as well as heat stress.

Demron consists of an advanced radiopaque nanopolymeric compound fused between layers of fabric, used to manufacture the personal-protection gear.

Demron products are currently deployed worldwide by every branch of the US military, US CST teams, FDNY, IAEC, NASA, and many international first responder and military teams in China, Iraq, Kuwait, South Korea, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Singapore, the release said.

Scientists have selected Demron for thermo-mechanical suits for future space travel. RST manufactures Demron and the nano materials at its research and development facility in Miami.
