In January 2021, the US imported $287.75 million worth of apparel from India. This figure increased to $382.56 million in March 2021 with a surge of 32.95 per cent over imports in January 2021. It again further rose to $ 394.29 million in June 2021 and is expected to move up to $418.55 million in December 2021 with an increase of 6.15 per cent over the imports in June 2021, according to Fibre2Fashion's market intelligence tool TexPro.
The US cotton apparel import from India was $229.56 million in January 2021. It increased to $284.34 million in March 2021 with a jump of 23.86 per cent over imports in January 2021. It again further rose to $295.80 million in June 2021 and is expected to move up to $312.14 million in December 2021 with an increase of 5.52 per cent over the imports in June 2021.
Meanwhile, the US fabric imports from India stood at $54.61 million in January 2021. It increased to $63.35 million in March 2021 with a growth of 16.01 per cent over imports in January 2021. It again further rose to $68.65 million in June 2021 and is expected to move up to $77.31 million in December 2021 with an increase of 8.37 per cent over the imports in June 2021, according to TexPro.
The US yarn imports from India were valued at $11.19 million in January 2021. It increased to $11.58 million in March 2021 with a rise of 3.51 per cent over imports in January 2021. Though the value dropped to $11.18 million in June 2021, it is now expected to move up to $11.73 million in December 2021 with an increase of 4.90 per cent over the imports in June 2021.
