Huntsman Textile Effects has launched 210 new dye formulations for textiles with colour development from Pantone LLC, a global authority on colour.

“The partnership aims to help the textile industry efficiently produce eco-friendly fashion, home furnishings and interior design products,” a Huntsman press release informed.

The new dye formulations extend the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Textile Colour System and deliver exceptional colour accuracy, production efficiency and product performance.

Based on Huntsman's Avitera SE reactive dyes range, the new formulations enable designers and brands to select on-trend colours that meet their performance specifications and environmental responsibilities.

“Using this colour system, users can speed the time from inspiration to production while consistently delivering high-quality products to achieve the highest level of light, wet and chlorine-fastness,” it said.

“Textiles dyed with these new formulations also conform to the most stringent international industry standards and are free of para-chloro-aniline (PCA) and other regulated chemicals,” the dyes producer added.

“The need for environmental and economic sustainability is dramatically changing the global textile sector and calling for radical new solutions like the Avitera SE dyes,” Jay Naidu at Huntsman Textile Effects said.

“With the collaboration of Pantone, we are helping mills satisfy the quality and performance needs of apparel and home fashion brands while also achieving cost-effective production and a cleaner supply chain,” he too added.

“In the textile sector, the ability to accurately and consistently reproduce one's desired colour in production around the world is essential,” Mitch Cole, global director of marketing, Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors also said.

“Brands and mills need a sophisticated and environment-friendly colour solution that can be easily and cost-effectively reproduced in today's production environments,” Cole observed.

“Combining the expertise of Pantone and Huntsman Textile Effects, we are helping the industry meet these multiple challenges,” he noted.

The 210 dye formulations launched from Huntsman Textile Effects addresses evolving consumers' tastes and market needs and include shades with pale, medium, dark, intense dark and brilliant shades, and even deep black.

According to Huntsman, the poly-reactive Avitera SE dyes ensure accurate dyeing and rapid and very high exhaustion rate for cotton and other cellulosic fibres and their blends.

They help mills enhance right-first-time performance and improve productivity by 25 per cent or more.
They also offer a significantly better environmental footprint than any conventional dyeing and washing-off process or current best available technology.

“With Avitera SE dyes, water and energy consumption along with carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions can be reduced by half,” the dyes manufacturer observed. (AR)
