Q2 revenues soar 21% at digital printer maker EFI

For the three months ended June 30, 2016, revenue at Electronics For Imaging (EFI) soared 21 per cent to $245.7 million from $202.7 million in the same quarter of prior year.

However, GAAP net income in the second quarter of 2016 slipped to $5.2 million or $0.11 per diluted share, compared to $7.7 million or $0.16 per diluted share for the same period in 2015.

Non-GAAP net income too dipped to $26.7 million or $0.56 per diluted share as against non-GAAP net income of $22.9 million or $0.48 per diluted share in the second quarter of earlier year.

For the six months ended June 30, 2016, the manufacturer and marketer of digital printers reported revenue of $479.8 million, also up 21 per cent year over year.

In the first half of 2016, GAAP net income stood at $7.3 million or $0.15 per diluted share, compared to $13.0 million or $0.27 per diluted share in the first half of 2015.

Non-GAAP net income totaled $52.9 million or $1.11 per diluted share in the reporting period as against $44.4 million or $0.92 per diluted share for the same period in 2015

“The EFI team delivered a solid quarter despite the disruption caused by global events during the last week of the quarter,” said Guy Gecht, CEO of EFI.

“At the same time, EFI's market position at the Drupa trade show validated both our strategy and product roadmap, and we're encouraged by the exceptional reception to our new Nozomi platform,” he added. (AR)
