Talk on Thai Silk Textile

This talk introduces “Wool-Silk” – A new Thai woven textile. This exclusive textile is totally hand-crafted from the world's finest and softest natural fibres — Ultra-fine wool and Thai silk.

The wool is incredibly fine of 12 to 15 micron diameter and is grown by specially selected Merino sheep on Casalanafarm in Western Australia. The silk comes from Thailand, renowned for the silk of exceptional quality.
Casalanais owned by Drs John and Nui Milton who combine their background in agricultural research with best practice farming methods to manage their Merino sheep to exacting ethical and environmentalstandards. We recognized that Casalanavery fine wool could add a new dimension tothe Thai silk textile so we engaged Pan Mai, one of the Thai silk cottage industrygroups, to totally hand process Casalanawool from fleece to fabric in a marriage with Thai silk.
