US Pima cotton export report out

American PIMA released weekly cotton export report was released by Supima. There were 5,300 bales in new net sales this past week versus 2,400 bales in sales reported the previous week.

Current registered export sales for the 2005/06 crop year are now 237,500 bales versus 232,200 bales last week.

This level of sales is 46.4 percent of the sales level at the same time last year when 512,300 bales in sales had already been registered.

Current shipments stand at 43.6 percent of last year with 104,000 bales shipped versus 238,600 bales shipped at the same time last year.

This week's purchases were made by China (2,200), Japan (2,000), India (1,300), Mexico (900), Indonesia (500) and Korea (300).

There were 500 bales in destination changes this past week from Japan to Indonesia.

There were 1,800 bales cancellations this past week from China (900), Indonesia (300), Mexico (300), India (200) and Turkey (100).

There were 5,600 bales in exports this past week versus 6,800 bales in export shipments during the previous week.

Shipments this past week went to Indonesia (1,300), Germany (1,200), Korea (1,000), India (700), China (600), Japan (600), Turkey (200) and Thailand (100).

The top five leading importers this year are led by China with purchases of 68,300 bales.

India, Japan, Indonesia and Germany round out the top five with purchases of 50,800 bales, 39,300 bales, 17,300 bales and 13,000 bales respectively.
