Request to add certain products in CAFTA-DR Annex 3.25

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) has determined that Certain Cotton/Nylon/Spandex Raschel Open Work Crepe, Piece Dyed Fabric, as specified below, is not available in commercial quantities in a timely manner in the US-DR-CAFTA region. As a result, the subject fabric will be added to the list in Annex 3.25, effective December 16, 2011.

A notice of CITA's determination has been published in Federal Register, but a copy of the notice is attached for your information, and may also be found on OTEXA's website, along with the Request and the record of the proceeding.

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA), an interagency group chaired by the Department of Commerce, is responsible for matters affecting textile trade policy and for supervising the implementation of all textile trade agreements.

CITA negotiates and administers provisions of Free Trade Agreements; implements the short supply, wool provisions, and other aspects of the Trade Preference Acts; and takes textile and apparel safeguard actions, when appropriate, under the World Trade Organization (WTO).
