A Taiwanese Government programme to help local textile producers with branding of their products and gaining access to international markets has majorly boosted the sales turnover of the domestic textile makers, the Taiwan Textile Federation has said.

Initiated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Bureau of Foreign Trade, the program has helped textile producers to generate sales turnover of US$ 190 million in the past four years, while this year by now it has helped 20 textile makers to generate US$ 51 million in sales, the Federation noted.

Having revived 342 textile producers in the country, the program has also created 600 employment opportunities.

Justin Huang, Secretary-General of the Federation, said the Cabinet is considering the prospects of establishing a "free economic demonstration zone" in the country, which would help domestic producers by attracting producers of high-end goods and goods with high value propositions.
