The All-India Craft Bazaar-2006 that began at Amma Kalyanamanapam from February 20 to run through March 1, 2006, is a joint effort of Handicrafts Development Commissioner (DC) and Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation.
All-India Craft Bazaar-2006 was inaugurated by Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTM-UDA) Vice-Chairman, V Durga Das.
Assistant Director IHP Rao, Marketing & Service Extension Central Office of DC(Handicrafts) informed that about 150 artisans from all over the country are showcasing products worth Rs 60 lakh.
The articles on display include tribal Bihar's traditional jewelry, Orissa's colourful paintings and etchings on palm leaves, cane and bamboo crafts from North Eastern states, woolen carpets from West Bengal, shawls from Jammu and Kashmir, glass toys from Rajasthan and sandalwood carvings of Karnataka.
