Exim Bank's latest study `Textile Exports : Post-MFA Scenario –Opportunities & Challenges' indicates that the Indian textile industry has the potential to reach an export value of US$ 70 billion by 2014.

Opening up of the Indian retail market and increasing income and affordability also indicate huge consumption potential in the home market too.

Indeed, the post-quota regime opens up enormous opportunities and at the same time poses mammoth challenges for the Indian textile and clothing industry.

The time is just right to weave a vision for the Indian textile industry that will see India regaining its position in the world of clothing and textiles.

To facilitate convergence of minds and energies that will weave this vision, the Federation of All India Textile Manufacturers Associations (FAITMA) proudly announces its association with IMAGES, India's leading organization supporting the business of fashion and retail, to hold India's first ever CEOs Conclave for the textile and clothing industry on March 17 & 18, 2006 at the Intercontinental, Mumbai.

While the first day of the conclave will address the macro issues concerning world textiles trade and economics of the business, the second day will delve deeper into logistics and operations areas.

The conclave presents an opportunity for the captains of the industry to share knowledge and understand each other, and exchange their views on the various issues faced by the industry, in a mood of outspoken discussion.

The aim of this conclave is to get the industry together to understand the operational facts of the business, so that ultimately all can work together with the bigger objective of growing with the industry.

FAITMA aims to present the larger picture.

Faitma represents the various bodies that are a part of the vast textile industry.
