The XXIX Congress of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) and the 103rd Annual Meeting of The American Leather Chemists Association will be held jointly in Washington, DC, on the 20th to the 24th of June 2007.

ALCA is a trade organization for professionals in the tanning and leather chemicals industries. The birth of the ALCA was not a sudden phenomenon. A group of leather chemists met at the annual convention of the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) in 1893.
