AATCC launches 'Test Method Online Training Videos'

In an effort to find new ways to serve the growing global membership, AATCC, the Association of Textile, Apparel & Materials Professionals, has launched a selection of AATCC Test Method Online Training Videos.

Norma Keyes of Keyes Consulting, a long time AATCC member, conducted a study in 2013 on behalf of AATCC on the needs of brands and retailers with regards to quality testing and test methods. “One of the findings expressed almost universally by the brands and retailers visited during the AATCC National Brands Survey was the need for their staffs to have textile education classes," noted Keyes. "However, they also said that work demands and limited travel budgets did not allow new people or people with no textile background to get basic textile training."

AATCC has responded to this need by creating online training videos for several key test methods and evaluation procedures. The videos feature visual demonstrations of 11 popular AATCC test methods and six evaluation procedures, including text and audio narration of step-by-step instruction and demonstrations of correct techniques.

A valuable tool to anyone who must evaluate and interpret the results of AATCC test methods or must actually perform textile testing, the videos offer practical knowledge that can be learned from anywhere an internet connection is available, without incurring time away from the office or travel expenses to take the class.
