Textile Society of America to present 10th Biennial Symposium

Textile Society of America (TSA) 10th Biennial Symposium "Textile Narratives and Conversations" being held in Toronto this fall.
Toronto is a city of imagination and a unique urban landscape to wander, explore and enjoy. From October 11 to October 14, 2006, Harbourfront Centre, overlooking the northern shore of Lake Ontario, will provide an exciting setting in which to explore the conference theme "Textile Narratives and Conversations."
The program will include presentations about textiles and trade, education, ritual practices, cultural transitions, cultural and gender issues, contemporary art practices, and focused sessions addressing disparate geographical and historical topics.
We have prepared an enticing and savory array of conversations and questions that will allow us to speak to one another across disciplines, and through our common interests.
Scholars, artists, gallery and museum professionals, educators and lovers of textiles are encouraged to participate by registering for this important symposium.
A pre-symposium short course on identifying textile techniques and construction, plus various stimulating pre- and post-symposium tours, will also be offered at very reasonable prices. Register early as space for these events is quite limited.
A special Marketplace is scheduled for Saturday October 14 from 12-6 pm. Vendors of high quality textiles, wearables, textile books, accessories, or related items are invited to participate in this unique opportunity to reach a concentrated audience for your goods.
