Garment contact platform 2006 - SIPPO

Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) announced that around 44,000 traders specialized in the fashion sector visited the CPD fair in Dusseldorf.
The SIPPO team consisting of two experts, the project management and an expert from the SECO/Adex project Peru represented 70 companies from our partner countries Bulgaria, Bolivia, Macedonia, Serbia, Peru and Rumania and helped to put the producers into contact with interested buyers. It was the third time we participated in this specialized fair with a SIPPO booth.
Before the fair, a significant increase in importers and buyers looking for specific new producers and sourcing markets, was observed following our mailings and phone calls. Meetings at the fair were organized and in that way, 8 quotations and sample orders could be placed directly.
An agent for Germany (alpaca and pima cotton products) decided to introduce the project to his clients and to establish direct contacts in that way between his clients in Germany and producers from the SIPPO program. In the meantime he visited 20 clients and more sample orders were placed.
At the moment, a reputed designer from Germany is preparing a new label collection for men in the high-end knitwear and shirt sector in collaboration with two SIPPO supported companies in Peru and Macedonia.
As one of the economic development instrument of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (seco), SIPPO sustainably and effectively promotes the competitiveness of emerging markets and markets in transition.
