For the FY 2006-07, Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers' Cooperative Society (APCO) is expecting highest turnover of Rs150 crores, which would be Rs38 crores more than the previous year.
Timely yarn supply, bulk orders from State Government organizations, increased pay for weavers and more sale of home furnishings are the factors responsible for high returns.
Net sales worth Rs83.8 crores have been recorded across 188 stores and 30 showrooms countrywide according to G Vinod, Minister for Textiles and Handlooms.
Government had provided festive advance to its staff for buying APCO garments, which brought in Rs10 crores. Further, Welfare Department placed orders for APCO dress materials worth Rs30 crores.
