Wearing bikinis, high-heeled boots, and police hats and gloves and holding signs that read, "Animal Skins Are a Fashion Felony," PETA's pair of sexy "fashion police" will hand out "violation notices" resembling citation tickets to fur-, leather-, and wool-wearers for "violating the code of common decency."
Date: Tuesday, March 6
Time: 12 noon sharp
Place: Pioneer Square, intersection of Yamhill and Broadway streets
What's wrong with fur leather and wool? For the animals who are mutilated, treated like unfeeling machines, and denied everything that is natural and important to them in animal factories and slaughterhouses, there's no difference between fur, leather, and wool. All three cause great suffering that can be avoided simply by choosing from the many warm and fashionable alternatives to animal skins.
"I'll gladly bare some of my skin if it will help save animals' skins," says PETA member Lynsie Strommer. "With all the luxurious alternatives available, there's absolutely no excuse to wear animal skins."
