Lexpo Fair gets underway at Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR:
The famed Lexpo Fair, inaugurated today, showcases impressive array of leather products attracting large number of visitors every year in Calcutta, is being held for the first time in the city of Jamshedpur.
Organised by the Indian Leather Technologists Association (ILTA), the objective of the fair is to provide a platform to independent entrepreneurs.
“Our objective is to ensure that all manufacturers get a proper channel to market their self-designed products,” said Asit Baran Kanungo, General-Secretary of ILTA.
The fair has grown to a larger scale compared to what it was years ago.
“At first we had concentrated on making export quality material but later converted it to a fair to cater to the demands of the people,” added Kanungo.
Similar fairs have been organized in places like Gangtok, Siliguri, Kanpur and Guwahati, Jamshedpur happens to be second city in state to host the prestigious fair after Ranchi.
ILTA organises five such fairs in different parts of the country. It is planning to organize such fairs down south.
The fair would conclude on March 22.
