IntercontinentalExchange announced a second consecutive daily electronic trading record at the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) yesterday, with 149,389 futures contracts changing hands. The new record replaces the previous high established on Monday, April 9, of 147,958 contracts.

NYBOT's soft commodity futures contracts, including cocoa, coffee, cotton, orange juice and sugar, began side-by-side trading on the ICE system on February 2, 2007. In March, 59% of the NYBOT softs traded electronically.

The NYBOT U.S. Dollar Index, foreign exchange products, and other equity and commodity indices are currently listed in an electronic test environment with electronic trading expected to commence in late April 2007.

IntercontinentalExchange operates the leading global, electronic marketplace for trading both futures and OTC energy contracts and the leading soft commodity exchange.

ICE's markets offer access to a range of contracts based on crude oil and refined products, natural gas, power and emissions, as well as agricultural commodities including cocoa, coffee, cotton, ethanol, orange juice, wood pulp and sugar, in addition to currency and index futures and options.
