Man and machine are always at cross for the ages. The struggle has been initiated immediately after industrial revolution in England.
Its shadow is still looming large over human beings especially in countries like India, where a class of people is inclined to machine and technology, which takes the toll of those who earn their bread and butter from traditional tools.
Handloom and powerloom, the two sectors of textile industry, are in a brush, though the present situation is too subtle to be handled by Government.
The cloth is generally made on either power looms or handlooms whatever is the method of production, the cost of yarn and chemicals is the same.
Power looms use electricity and less man power whereas handlooms use more man power and no electricity.
The end result is the handlooms are costlier than the power looms because of higher wages.

Most of the unscrupulous persons are passing power looms as handlooms and making unreasonable profits and cheating consumers.
