IMC – empowering young women entrepreneurs

Ladies' Wing of the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC Ladies' Wing) successfully concluded exhibition-cum-sale titled 'Women Entrepreneurs 2007', recently, in Mumbai.
Mrs Minal Bajaj, President explained to Fibre2fashion, “We are a 35 year old organization, working hard to arrange social, economic, cultural and business events. 'Women Entrepreneurs 2007' is our signature event and is conducted both domestically and internationally. Locally it is organized in Mumbai. This fair provides a massive ratail platform for young women entrepreneurs who do not have outlets.”
Bajaj also informed, “Women are presented with Annual Award 'Janki Devi Bajaj Puraskar' and 'Finance & Banking Award', once every two years, that shows appreciation for their hard work and dedication. One of the participants is also chosen as 'Women of the year'. This not only encourages them but also urges others to do better with every year. We also offer Schloarship to their children.”
Bajaj said, “We organize seminars and lectures on art and culture, health & holistic, legal & business issues and environment. We also conduct workshops and industrial visits. We select themes for each year and this year it is 'Beyond Empowerment - Celebrating the Complete Women'.
IMC is planning to start design centre for children and women. It is working hard to take expand and generate global awareness among women.
IMC helps and supports many NGOs by donations and also managing their activities. Complementary stalls are provided for NGOs in exhibition.
