Malaysia's trade surplus registered a double digit growth of 21.6% to RM10.45 billion in November 2007, compared with RM8.59 billion in October 2007. November's trade surplus was the 121st consecutive month of trade surplus since November 1997.
Total trade in November 2007 was valued at RM98.28 billion. Exports in November 2007 amounted to RM54.36 billion and imports were RM43.91 billion. Compared with the high export and import levels in October 2007, exports and imports in November 2007 were lower by 0.9% and 5.1% respectively. However, exports grew by 5.7% and imports increased by 3.9% when compared with November 2006.
During the period of January to November 2007, Malaysia's total trade reached RM1.01 trillion, an increase of 3.5%, from the same period of 2006. Exports rose by 2.7% to RM550.9 billion, while imports expanded by 4.6% to RM459.92 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of RM90.98 billion.
