ITM-2009, textile machinery expo opens with 902 exhibitors

ITM-2009, the 26th International Istanbul Textile Machinery Exhibition began from June 6 and will continue till June 10. It has been organised jointly by the Turkish Textile Machinery and Accessories Association (TEMSAD) and Turkish Textile Employers Association (TTSIS).
902 textile exhibitors from 26 countries like Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and India as well as Turkey are participating in this edition where the latest in technological innovations are expected to be displayed.
Exports of textile machinery from Turkey grew to US $312 million in 2008, a growth of 31 percent, when compared with the previous year despite the financial crisis leading to a manufacturing slowdown across the globe. Textile machinery was exported to Bangladesh, Egypt, Uzbekistan and Syria among many other countries.
