In its third estimate, 'Cotton South Africa' has estimated the 2009-10 cotton season crop at 39,716 lint bales, which is 12 percent down from the previous season and also the lowest since the early sixties.
About 36,206 lint bales are expected to be produced from RSA produced seed cotton, 14 percent down from the previous cotton season. The balance of 3,519 lint bales relates to Swaziland produced cotton, which will be ginned there itself.
