CSB considers SMOI 'Silk Mark Scheme'

The Silk Mark Organisation of India (SMOI) introduced the Silk Mark scheme. The scheme has the quality assurance label. This scheme conceived by the Central Silk Board (CSB).

Vandana Kumar CEO of Silk Mark Organisation informed that the label signifies that a product to which it affixed is hundred per cent natural silk.

She stated that it is aimed at protecting the interests of consumers, manufacturers and traders of pure silk.

Silk Mark also plans at generic promotion of silk and building brand equity of both in the domestic and overseas markets.

India takes place to be the second largest producer of silk after China.
