Jharcrafts - the Government of Jharkhand Undertaking is opening shop in Ahmedabad, next month.
In a tele interview today with Fibre2fashion, Mr Dhirendra Kumar, Director Jharcraft revealed that Jharcraft will continue to retain its leading position among Government Undertaking from the handloom and handicrafts sector in terms of sales and performance.
Last year, Jharcraft sales touched Rs 22 crores and are expecting to soar up to Rs 60 crores this fiscal. Products wise they lead in silk sales in the country apart from handlooms, handicrafts, home décor and accessories.
Mr Kumar informs that Jharcraft has been recognized and designated by the Ministry of Textiles as a Model Cluster. It's setup in coordination with all the cluster actors; namely local artisans, SHG's (Self Help Groups), & NGO's (Non-Government Organisation) has turned out to be a grand success.
As a lead cluster implementing agency for the State of Jharkhand, Jharcraft provides all possible support to the cluster actors in terms of finance, raw materials, design assistance, marketing etc.
Jharcraft has 25 outlets throughout the country and will open the Ahmedabad outlet in June, this year.
