Century Textiles temporarily shuts Nainital operations

Century Textiles & Industries Ltd has informed that, in order to comply with certain pollution control requirements and other technical reasons, manufacturing operations at Pulp & Paper Division of the Company situate at Lalkua, Dist. Nainital, Uttarakhand have been temporarily shut effective from December 23, 2011. Efforts are being made to resume operations earliest possible.
Century Textiles and Industries Ltd. was incorporated in 1897 as a Public Limited Company with its Registered Office at Mumbai. Till 1951, the Company operated only one Cotton Textile Mill in Mumbai.
Thereafter, the Company has made rapid progress in expanding and diversifying its activities and today it is a well diversified conglomerate.
