Menswear retailer Austin Reed has posted sales growth in like-for-like by 2.7 percent for the 15 weeks to January 14, compared with 1 percent rise in the last seven weeks.
The London-based clothing retailer also stated its total sales for the period were up 6.3 percent, including the Regent Street store, over the same period.
The demand for group's menswear, causalwear, accessories and womenswear showed improvement, while margins were higher due to clothes sold at full prices.
The group also informed that like-for-like sales of its Country Casuals brand were down 10.5 percent, and total sales were down 17.8 percent over the same 15 week period.
Austin Reed Group Plc's principal activities are the retailing and licensing of quality business, leisure and related products for men and women.
The group has licensing operations in Europe, North America, Japan and Asia and has recently established a Country Casuals business in Canada.
Country Casuals brand is sold through 64 stores and 141 concessions while Austin Reed brand is sold through 47 stores and 39 concessions in the United Kingdom.
The group has 17 licensees operating across 10 countries. Retailing accounts for 98 percent of fiscal 2003 while revenues and licensing accounts for 2 percent.
