Visaka Ind invests Rs100 crore in cotton spinning mill

Visaka Industries Limited being set up near Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore, is scheduled to start operations with capacity of over 50,000 spindles a day during first quarter of next year, informed G Vivekanand, Managing Director of the company.
Two asbestos cement sheet manufacturing units at Vijayawada and Ahmedabad are also planned.
Vivekanand informed that several overseas orders were received for the 200-machine garment facility set up recently at Chennai.
Export market requires main attention as capacity would be enhanced to 1,000 machines in a year and half.
The Rae Barelli unit, set up with an investment of Rs 30 crore, started production from January this year, increasing the installed capacity of the company to 4 lakh sheets, he said.
Whereas Vijayawada unit is scheduled to be completed by October 2006, Vivekanand added.
