Madrid based leading infrastructures group Grupo Ferrovial SA has announced that it is considering launching a bid for 100 percent of BAA plc's (BAA) issued capital, although there is no certainty at present that the bid will finally be made. If the bid is launched, it would be in cash and through a consortium.
Leading airport operator BAA operates seven airports in the UK and has airport holdings in Australia, the US and Chile. BAA's success in running airports has led to expertise in other airport-related activities – property, retail, rail, construction, international airports, fire service, cargo and safety and security.
Spanish construction consortium Grupo Ferrovial obtained 556.8 million euro in net income in 2004, a 63.5% increase.Net sales amounted to 7,268.2 million euro, a 20.6% increase.
