Home design entrepreneur Victoria D'Angelo is now opening a consultancy that will help companies find, use and offer socially responsible products from around the world.
Called the Global Products Placement Project, D'Angelo sources underprivileged working groups from around the world and helps them to develop marketable products, and matches them with channels of distribution and revenue.
"They focus on finding and cultivating the talent of these unique groups of craftspeople, helping them refine their products to meet the demands of a dynamic global marketplace.
Then, they connect them with socially responsible retailers and manufacturers that are able to purchase the goods.
The result is that companies get distinctive, high quality, and hand crafted products that give them a competitive advantage, while the craftspeople receive much needed revenue that supports their families and their communities.
Everybody wins," says D'Angelo, founder of the project.
D'Angelo began looking for unique opportunities when she was sourcing new products for her home accessory line, D'Angelo Home Collections.
D'Angelo, through a contact, was introduced to Aruna Seth, who oversees a unique group of crafts women who practice the art of traditional bobbin lace making, which was originally introduced to this Christian region of southern India by a Catholic missionary from Belgium in the early 1800's.
D'Angelo decided that she would help Seth and her team of craftswomen bring their magnificent, historic lace products to a worldwide market.
