Hemptown Clothing adds John Hoekman to advisory board

Hemptown Clothing Inc, a Vancouver based eco-friendly apparel company, has announced John Hoekman has joined its advisory board. With the addition of Hoekman, the advisory board is now comprised of four members.
Jerry Kroll, CEO said, "Our advisory board helps us achieve and even exceed our strategic and operational goals. With over 13 years of experience in wealth management and capital markets transactions, John will provide valuable financial insight and industry contacts as we examine means through which we can further commercialize CRAILAR(TM), our new biotech enzyme process."
"John's background in investment banking and strategy complements the current expertise of the board and his addition marks another enhancement to our visionary management team," he said.
Hoekman added, "As a disruptive technology, we believe CRAILAR is a huge growth catalyst for Hemptown. The company plans to capitalize on CRAILAR by licensing the technology to developmental partners in target industries such as apparel, medical and hospital textiles, and diversified industrials. Companies within these markets are looking for means to produce sustainable materials that improve their product lines while at the same time also provide environmental benefits. It is our belief that CRAILAR will significantly change the production of fibers and composites, and I look forward to contributing to this exciting growth initiative."
Since 2004, Hoekman has served as a Senior VP with Stephens Inc, a full service investment bank, where he focuses on business development in the areas of wealth management and investment banking. Previously, Hoekman directed private client investment strategy at Morgan Stanley and Oppenheimer and Co Inc.
