Ambica Jute undergoes a Rs42 cr expansion plan

Ambica Jute Mill at Bally, Howrah district invested Rs42 crore to expand the mill and successfully revamp it with the latest modern machinery.

This step is expected to generate over 1500 jobs.

Ambica is owned by the Kankaria group that deals in information technology, jute, cotton textiles, real estate & construction, retail and finance and has made its mark in countries like the US, UK, China, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Singapore, Nepal, South Africa, Korea, Taiwan and Dubai.

The West Bengal Government is also planning to establish a jute industrial park at Kalyani in Nadia district.

Nirupam Sen, State Industry Minister, informed that the land had already been earmarked and the park would cover an area of 350 acres.
