SPC polyester output gets Sinopec's nod

Synthetic fiber raw materials maker Shanghai Petrochemical Co Ltd (SPC) informed that its polyester innovation project with an annual output of 150,000 tons of SPC Polyester Division went through completion acceptance by China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec).

Thus, SPC's polyester production capacity reaches 550,000 tons per year. Based on the technical flow of self-developed tri-reactor polyester, this project adopts home-developed technology with independent property right, which makes full use of the location and public engineering facilities of the suspended plants.

It is the first successful application of home-developed special technology to the large-scale polyester production equipment.

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) is a leading producer and distributor of oil products (both wholesale and retail of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel) and No1 producer and supplier of major petrochemical products (including petrochemical intermediates, synthetic resin, synthetic fiber monomers and polymers, synthetic fiber and chemical fertilizer) as well as the 2nd largest crude oil producer.

SPC produces over 60 different types of products in 4 categories, such as petroleum products, intermediate petrochemicals, synthetic resins and plastics, synthetic fiber raw materials and synthetic fibers.
