Indo Count has planned to pilot market its home textiles products for its maiden foray into the US market.

The company plans to begin trial run of the Rs 205 crore fabric plant in June and intends setting up its marketing network before that.

The plant will be based at Kolhapur and will manufacture one lakh metres of fabric a day with facilities for bleaching, dyeing and processing.

It will manufacture at least 16,000 sheet sets a day, said Mohit Jain, Director.

The company exports cotton yarn and knitted fabric to European markets.

It is set to enter the US markets through its home textile products, which include bed sheets, curtains, table linen and pillow covers.

The company will set up retail network and put up its products on internet portals as about 10 per cent products have been sold through the net, adds Jain.

Indo Count will invest another Rs 300 crore to double its loom capacity to 300, in the second phase of expansion.

Discussions are underway with Spanish designers to set up in-house design team, said Jain.

Launching of home textile brands in the domestic market is also very much on the cards.
